Review and close the day

Review sales, cash variance, stock attention, and operational work before handing over or closing a shift.

Who can do this

Managers and owners. Cashiers can close only the shifts permitted for their role.

2. Review sales and exceptions

4. Close the shift or day

Open Shifts or Day close, count cash where required, and submit the close action once. Keep the resulting record for review.

Cash variance and approvals

Expected cash is calculated from the shift's opening cash, cash sales, cash refunds, and recorded cash movements. Entering the counted closing cash lets the shift record the difference as the cash variance.

  • Within the approval threshold — the shift closes directly and records its variance.
  • Above the configured approval threshold — the shift is placed in pending approval, a variance note is required, and a manager or owner approves or rejects the close before it is final.

The final shift record shows the recorded totals, the variance, its status, and any follow-up work.

Expected result

The day or shift shows its recorded totals, variance, status, and any follow-up work. Use export actions only after confirming the selected reporting period.
